ASEPAC is an organisation founded in the year 1983, and is a non-profit organisation declared to be of public interest in 1996, for the promotion of assistance, treatment, and social and labour integration of people with ASD. It is registered in the Associations Registry of the Local Government of Catalonia under number 6,109 of Sec. 1 of the Barcelona Registry.
ASEPAC is a member of the Autism Catalonia Federation and the Autism Spain Confederation.
ASEPAC began to operate the TERLAB centre in 1987, in order to respond to the needs of adolescents and adults who had not been included in occupational centres for people with intellectual disabilities, due to the severe behavioural problems they showed. Currently, it has a capacity of 42 spaces.
The objective of TERLAB is to provide these people therapeutic treatment suited to their needs and appropriate work for their skills.
The TERLAB facilities consist in workshops measuring 1,400 m2, greenhouses measuring 1,024 m2 and agricultural area measuring 13,000 m2.
Through TERLAB the following services are managed:
Social and labour insertion: This has to goal of training and preparing people with ASD to have the possibility of joining the labour world within the realm of their abilities.
Occupational therapy and work with support: The goal is to provide people with ASD with the most normal job possible adapted to their needs and skills, with the objective of improving their quality of life.
Therapeutic holiday service and family breaks: Their mission is to offer their families a service that allows them to reconcile their normal social and working life with the needs of people with ASD.
