Autisme la Garriga’s project (Barcelona, Spain)

The objective of Autisme la Garriga’s Project is providing the people with autism with a global attention and treatment during all their life cycle and, at the same time, providing the families with the necessary support. The origin of this project was born in 1975 thanks to a group of parents and professionals.

Currently, and after 30 years of work, that initiative has lead to the setting up of the following services:

• Diagnosis
• Advice
• Outpatient’s treatments
• Occupational therapy
• Therapeutic halls of residence
• Family support services

All these services are run by multidisciplinary teams of professionals from the fields of psychiatry, neurology, psychology and pedagogy. They are managed and coordinated by affected parents responsible for the associations CERAC, ASEPAC and APAFAC, which together with the Congost Autisme Foundation constitute the Autisme la Garriga’s Project.

The Congost-Autisme Private Foundation contributes to this project with technical, human and economical support, as well as promoting training and research programmes
