Familiar respite service - HTS

This service depends on the association ASEPAC, which is one of the entities composing the Autisme la Garriga’s project (Barcelona. Spain).

Due to the features of people with autism, it is very important for their families to have at their disposal familiar support services.

HTS opens during all holiday days, weekends, and Christmas, Easter and summer holidays. It has a capacity of 45 people.

Objectives

• Achieve the greatest possible stabilisation of the family life, so that the person with autism is able to go on living at home.
• Avoid the person with autism to suffer a backward step, if during holidays his/her usual therapeutic line is interrupted too much time.
• Help families to be able to look after the affective needs of other brothers and/or sisters, if they exist.
• Enable the mothers who have a remunerated job, to go on developing their working activities during the holiday periods of their children.
